An amazing cafe just opened this month in Ginza, offering Japanese rice crackers and drinks such as coffee, tea and orange juice for free! The cafe is run by Harimaya, a traditional rice cracker maker, in order to spread how fantastic rice crackers are to young people.
Put a small plate of crackers and a paper cup on your tray, and you can enjoy a variety of rice crackers (as much as you can fit on your plate) and drink as much as you like.
All you have to do is show good manners and enjoy the rice crackers!
The cafe is now popular among young and old. I heard that 20% of customers buy the rice crackers for souvenirs, and Harimaya has increased their sales by 30%, so it’s not only a wonderful cafe for us, but a creative business strategy for Harimaya.
