A small bakery in the suburbs of Nagoya, one of the biggest cities in Japan, generated publicity and people came, and now it opened in Tokyo. Heart Bread Antique’s specialty is “Tenshi no ChocoRing”, meaning “Angel’s Chocolate ring”(500yen for medium size) and its part of sales is donated to underprivileged children in the world.
About 3,000 loaves are sold daily at their flagship shop in Nagoya. It is18cm in diameter, a giant donut-shaped pastry is flaky on the outside and fluffy on the inside, filled with a generous amount of chocolate morsels and roasted walnuts.
On weekends, many people stand in line and freshly-baked pastries are sold out quickly, so we sometimes have to wait next ones hot from the oven.
If you can hardly wait until you bring it to your hotels, go upstairs. Customers only have to order a drink to have pastries you bought on the first floor, though drinks are more expensive than the pastries, 630 yen. But there is nothing better than freshly-baked one. You might want to try half of the ChocoRing there and take the leftovers for your tomorrow’s breakfast.
