“Let’s start off with beer.” This is a common conversation when starting drinking parties in Japan. That is, beer is the most popular alcohol beverages in Japan.
For beer-lovers, there is a good place to visit. The museum of YEBISU BEER offers the 40-minutes Yebisu tour which you can experience the history as well as two varieties of delicious beer for 500 yen. Yebisu beer is considered as premium beer and beer for beer-lovers.
The highlight of the tour is beer tasting. We enjoyed two varieties of draft beer poured nicely. While drinking, a Yebisu expert showed us the successful way of drinking cans of beer at home as follows:
1. Wash a glass with a sponge exclusively for glasses to avoid oil of other dishes.
2. Let a glass dry naturally to avoid fibers of a kitchen cloth.
3. Pour beer into a glass on top about 30 cm (12-inch) away from the glass and wait until the beer foam finely stable.
4. Pour beer 90%-full of the glass slowly like making the foam uplift and wait 1 min until the beer foam stable.
5. Pour beer slowly so that the foam is up like soufflé.
It takes time, so you can’t wait to drink…but I believe it’s worth trying!
