Wherever you are in Tokyo, it’s easy to find cafes like Starbucks. But I sometimes feel that I want to drink much better a cup of coffee in a different place as usual. Then I heard about Streamer Coffee Company located between Shibuya and Harajuku and tried the cafe last weekend.
Though it doesn’t always have good access to transportation, it’s good way to avoid the crowds in Shibuya and Harajuku. The interior is simple and cool. I found two espresso machines over the counter, which was placed to show baristas’ performance well. No wonder. The owner of this cafe is the winner of Millrock free pour latte art championship 2008 at Seattle.
I ordered their specialty, “Streamer Latte”(520 yen) with a large cup, pouring milk into coffee and creating a beautiful pattern on a surface without a stick. I enjoyed seeing how my coffee is made and barista’s fantastic latte art with excitement. It tasted good, of course. This cafe became one of my favorite cafes, definitely.
